• Cowes on the Isle of Wight is home to prestigious yachting regattas on the Solent
  - The Westward Cup, JP Morgan Round the Island race, 8m and 12m World Championships, Panerai British Classic Week, J Class Solent Regatta including 1851 Hundred Guinea Cup, Brewin Dolphin Commodore's Cup, Cowes Super Yacht Cup and Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week.
   
• The Falmouth to Falmouth Rum Race followed by The Pendennis Cup.
 
• Weymouth and Portland in Dorset will host

The British society events calendar is packed with special events in 2012 including the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Pageant where the Queen will lead a flotilla of 1,000 boats down the Thames. Along with the traditional Chelsea Flower Show, Henley, Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, Silverstone Grand Prix, British Golf Open, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Glyndebourne, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and horse racing across the channel in Deauville.
